The opening of Laure Marville’s exhibition beautifully concluded our second cultural season last Thursday. On this occasion, the artist unveiled the work she created during her residency at the Institute, “The Voice of Trees,” a 130 x 180 cm linocut with acrylic and wool embroidery that now joins the Florimont collection.
For several months, the artist worked within our walls, meeting with students and teachers, and transforming this residency into a space for the transmission of knowledge. As she said at the beginning of her residency: “I was primarily motivated by my interest in art pedagogy, and by my unwavering belief in the crucial nature of visual arts education as a place for developing creativity, exploring new ideas, enhancing cognitive abilities, and fostering curiosity.”
We thank Laure Marville for accepting the residency at the Institute, and our collaborators for their unwavering commitment to serving “Encré” in our culture and community, which has once again shown its support. We look forward to seeing you next year for even more art and culture!
